Overview
With Amazon FSx for OpenZFS, you pay only for the resources you use and there are no minimum fees or set-up charges. While pricing is quoted on a monthly basis, your usage is prorated by the second, and you are billed for your average usage over a month.
SSD (provisioned) storage class:
SSD storage: You pay for the average amount of storage provisioned for your file systems per month, measured in gigabyte-months (GB-months), as shown in the pricing examples.
SSD IOPS: By default, 3 IOPS are included for every GB of SSD storage. You can optionally provision a higher level of IOPS, and you pay for the average IOPS provisioned above your included rate for the month, measured in IOPS-months.
Intelligent-Tiering (elastic) storage class:
Intelligent-Tiering storage: You pay for the average amount of storage consumed per storage tier–Frequent Access tier, Infrequent Access tier, and Archive Instant Access tier, for your file systems per month, measured in gigabyte-months (GB-months).
Monitoring and automation: You pay for the average amount of all storage consumed in the Intelligent-Tiering storage layer per month, measured in gigabyte-months (GB-months).
SSD read cache (optional): You pay for the average amount of cache provisioned for your file systems per month, measured in gigabyte-months (GB-months).
Data access: You pay for the average number of read and write request operations between the file system and the Intelligent-Tiering storage layer.
Throughput capacity: You pay for the average throughput capacity you’ve provisioned for your file systems per month, measured in "MB/s-months."
Data transfer: You pay for data transfer in both directions when accessing your Single-AZ file system from a non-preferred Availability Zone within the same Region. For Multi-AZ file systems, we charge no data transfer fees and include all cross-AZ data replication costs in the throughput capacity price.
Backups: With backups, you pay only for the storage space consumed. Backups are incremental, which means that only the changes after your most recent backup are saved, so you save on storage costs by not duplicating data. You pay for the average amount of backup storage consumed per month, measured in GB-months.

Pricing example 1: Multi-AZ Deployment
Assume you want to store up to 10 TB of enterprise application share and user share data using Multi-AZ SSD storage in the US East (N. Virginia) Region. Based on typical compression savings of 50%, you provision 5 TB storage capacity for you file system, and based on your workload preformance needs, you provision 320 MBps of throughput capacity. Assume you have an average backup storage of 5 TB during the month.
Storage: 5 TB * $0.18 per GB-month = $922/mo
Throughput: 320 MB/s * $0.87 per MB/s-month = $278/mo
Total monthly charge (excluding backups): $1,200 ($0.117/GB-month for 10TB of data)
Backups: 5 TB * $0.05 GB-month = $256/mo
Total monthly charge (including backups): $1,456 ($0.142/GB-month for 10TB of data)
Pricing example 2: Single-AZ 2 Deployment
Assume you want to store 128 GB of data for short-term image ML training workload on Single-AZ 2 SSD storage in the US East (N. Virginia) Region. You provision a 128GB Single-AZ file system with throughput capacity of 160 MBps, and use this file system for 12 hours (43,200 seconds) in a 30-day month. Assume you have not activated compression, and have not used any backup storage.
Total charge:
Storage: 128 GB * $0.09 per GB-month * 43,200 seconds / (86,400 seconds/day * 30 day-month) = $0.192
Throughput: 160 MBps x $0.26 per MB/s-month * 43,200 seconds / (86,400 seconds/day * 30 day-month) = $0.693
Total charge: $0.885 ($1.77/day for a file system)
