    Overview

    Terraform on Windows Server 2019

Terraform is a tool for building, changing, and versioning infrastructure safely and efficiently. Terraform can manage existing and popular service providers as well as custom in-house solutions

Terraform is created by Hashicorp, developed to deploy infrastructure as code. Terraform makes it easy to re-use configurations for similar infrastructure, helping you avoid mistakes and save time.

Terraform is used to create, manage, and update infrastructure resources such as virtual machines, network switches, containers, physical machines and so much more. Almost any infrastructure type can be represented as a resource in Terraform.

Terraform Features: Deploy infrastructure as code into AWS, onprem or other cloud platforms Execution plans - Terraform has a "planning" step where it generates an execution plan. The execution plan shows what Terraform will do when you call apply Resource Graph - Terraform builds a graph of all your resources, and parallelizes the creation and modification of any non-dependent resources Change Automation - Complex changesets can be applied to your infrastructure with minimal human interaction. Use within CI/CD Devops pipelines Write automated testing Integrate with the many provider APIs available

    Highlights

    • Configuration files describe to Terraform the components needed to run a single application or your entire datacenter. Terraform generates an execution plan describing what it will do to reach the desired state, and then executes it to build the described infrastructure. As the configuration changes, Terraform is able to determine what changed and create incremental execution plans which can be applied.
    • Automate the provisioning of your AWS infrastructure, on prem or any other cloud platform. Very easy to use
    • Use within your CI/CD devops pipelines. Create automated testing, before deploying infrastructure.

What do you like best about the product?
Terraform is one of the best Infrastructure as code tool out there. Its ability to store the tfstate in Human readable format and its Compatibility with the multiple cloud Environment Just Amuses Me.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is not one thing i disliked about the Terraform Yet. Just the knowledge on the Terraform Cloud.. But that is out of scope for Terraform on Windows Server 2019.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Time to deploy the Software in the Cloud. better control over things. Avoiding manual mistakes made by the developers. Having a configuration stored as code. Consistency of infra on all Environments.
