    This is a repackaged open source software product wherein additional charges apply for support while launching it and connecting to the instance for the first time as well as continuous security updates available in new versions.

    DESCRIPTION

    Amazon EC2 running Microsoft Windows Server 2019 is a secure, reliable, and high-performance environment for deploying Windows-based applications and workloads. You can provision instances quickly, and scale up or scale down as you need it, while only paying for what you use.

    NICE DCV is a high performance remote streaming protocol that enables user to securely access remote desktop or application sessions, including 3D graphics applications hosted on servers with high-performance GPUs.

    An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

    Usage instructions

    • Launch the instance either via AWS MarketPlace wizard or EC2 console

    Retrieving the password

    • Open the Amazon EC2 console, and then choose Instances.
    • Select the check box for the instance, and then expand the Actions dropdown list. If you're using the old console, then choose Get Windows Password. If you're using the new console, choose Security, and then choose Get Windows Password. Note: It can take a few minutes for this option to be available after you first launch a new instance.
    • Choose Browse, select your key pair file, and then choose Open. -or- Paste the contents of your key pair into the text box.
    • Choose Decrypt Password.

    NICE DCV Access

    • Configure the Security Group to open Inbound TCP and UDP ports 8443 from your location or use default settings (open to the world)
    • Download and install the NICE DCV client - https://docs.aws.amazon.com/dcv/latest/userguide/client.html 
    • When asked, provide the instance public ip to connect.
    • The user is administrator.
    • Use the steps in the previous section to retrieve the password.

    Web Access

    • Configure the Security Group to open Inbound TCP 8443 from your location or use default settings (open to the world)
    • In your browser, access the instance ip using https and port 8443, for example: https://34.239.94.134:8443/ 
    • The user is administrator.
    • Use the steps in the previous section to retrieve the password.

    Additional Information

    Monitoring the Health of the instance

    • Navigate to your Amazon EC2 console and verify that you're in the correct region.
    • Choose Instance and select your launched instance.
    • Select the server to display your metadata page and choose the Status checks tab at the bottom of the page to review if your status checks passed or failed.
