    Amazon Machine Image (AMI)

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

    Usage instructions

You can start using the system by connecting to EC2 via SSH using the username 'ec2-user'

Use VNC to connect to the Mate graphical desktop installed. VNC is an open source protocol that supports Windows, Linux, and Unix. There are many clients, including RealVNC, UltraVNC, TightVNC, etc.

Take TightVNC as an example. Windows can go to https://www.tightvnc.com/download.html  to download the client directly. MacOS needs to download "TightVNC Java Viewer", which is a Jar package that can be run directly on MacOS to start the graphical interface VNC client. In addition, you can also use the client that comes with MacOS.

The VNC server started above runs on port :1, which means the first user desktop on the VNC basic port 5900, so the connection port is 5901.

To connect from the public network, you need to go to the EC2 console, find the security rule group, release the TCP protocol port 5901, and allow remote connections from specific IP or 0.0.0.0/0. (Note that setting it to 0.0.0.0 is not safe, so try to set it to the company's fixed export IP address)

Then start the VNC client and enter the Public IP address or EIP corresponding to EC2, that is, the public P address: 5901 to log in.

Next, you can start the client to log in. Back to MacOS, click the desktop with the mouse, then select Go from the taskbar, and find the Connect to Server button from the drop-down box. The shortcut key is Command+K, and you can also use shortcut keys.

On the client interface that comes with MacOS, enter the following address:

    vnc://public IP:5901

At this time, you can also click the plus sign in the lower left corner to save this server address for easy access later.
