MariaDB is a popular open-source relational database management system. MariaDB's data files and client protocol are generally binary compatible with those from the equivalent MySQL version. It is developed by original developers of MySQL. MariaDB can also stores data in various tables. It is also part of most cloud offerings and default in most Linux distributions. To establish the relationship between these tables, primary keys and foreign keys are used. It is fast, scalable and robust.

    It has rich ecosystem of plugins, storage engines, etc which makes it very versatile for a wide variety of use cases.
