The Deep Origin operating system for life science provides the ideal interface for computational biology and bioinformatics. This image, R:0.6.5, is based on Ubuntu and contains a comprehensive suite of bioinformatics tools and software packages, tailored to meet the needs of today's scientists.

• When launching this AMI, configure a security group to allow traffic on port 22 (SSH) and port 80 (HTTP). Visit the instance's public IP in a browser to use the web-based tools. The default password will be the instance ID, which can be changed after the instance starts.
• A list of installed applications and versions can be found on the "applications" tab after connecting to the instance in the browser.
• The default user account is called "bench-user"
• Package management is centralized around conda/mamba. R packages are also managed with conda.
