CloudBees is an ideal choice for hosting

  • November 14, 2016
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like CloudBees since it is an open source continuous integration platform that offers a wide array of cloud hosting services.
Another main benefit of CloudBees is that it allows users to spin up a new server and use it to carry out an entirety of your application’s codes thereby providing exceptional concurrency in all features and aspects of your applications.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the downsides of this application is that it is not compatible with applications that do not run on Java framework.
In addition, while it is paramount to have all your applications scaled up concurrently, it can be irrelevant to have a huge amount of resources at your dispose while you only need a certain level of concurrency in the background to process large data volumes.
Finally, it is less flexible than other similar platforms in the market as there is a limit on the number of activities that you can do on the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of the main benefits is that it focuses only on Java language as well as other languages that are compatible with Java runtime. The fact that is focuses exclusively on one language makes it an ideal choice for all applications that run on Java.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend CloudBees as it offers exceptional support to all Java applications and the customer care team is responsive and supportive.

Decent JAVA framework, needs support for other non JVM languages

  • May 09, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Cloudbees would have been a great framework if all we did was on JVM. As it uses Jenkins, plugin support is top notch. The apps run on separate instances of a server, so concurrency is a given. Has all the perks of jenkins, so build status is always available. As they only deal in apps in JAVA, support has been great, almost all questions are answered without much phone jugglery. They can talk about our setup, however unique it may be. A well versed support team is always a plus.
What do you dislike about the product?
As stated before, the non JVM apps are not supported, so we are pretty much out of luck with ruby/php. The lack of them is rather limiting and tempts us to use Jenkins and configure it for all our needs. As of now, There are some stability issues where the server refuses to acknowledge any request. Also have noticed some scalability problems.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A decent display setup can point to build status messages for all the devs/non-devs. Some of our JAVA apps, having a consistent support is great.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are running some java app, CloudBees has got you covered. You'll love the support and the features they provide, just stay in their ecosystem. You probably will not regret it.

Leader in CI/CD industry with veterans/experienced developers working for them.

  • April 19, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
cloudbees is the leader in CI CD development and innovation. their products are award winning and open source with more than 6000 stars on github like very famous jenkins.
what i like most about cloudbees how much they care about open source, and technologies to be working platform independent and have up to date support for technologies like docker.
based on java, they have some of best industry veteran java programmers, ex-core contributors of hudson and have now taken it afar to become extremely versatile product jenkins.
lets face it, everyone loves jenkins, but to scale and manager volumes of builds, is what cloudbees has support for technologies like mesos .
What do you dislike about the product?
there isnt much to dislike even if you try, but the support for jenkins as compared cloudbees plugins is quite divergent. that all makes sense since cloudbees isnt inherently an open source company, they do strive and thrive to make money but they do it best way that helps communities also.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
large scale application deployments, gated testing and integration test, multiple builds per day and secure single sign-on based platform for users to manage their development environments.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
cloudbees has variety of products, to see which one floats your boat, its always a good idea to start with their open source projects like jenkins and cloudbees docker plugin support.
