If you’re selling you should be presenting you properties with these tours!

What do you like best about the product?
The time it takes to capture a property has been reduced drastically over the last few years. Yay!
What do you dislike about the product?
There is some Difficulty with doorways and stairs. Also harsh light translations when going from inside to outside.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reduces the amount of lookilous and better represents the property during the pandemic. Sold multiple homes in 2020 & 2021 with the 3D tours.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Buy the unit it's easy to use and will save you money and make you look like a rockstar to you clients.

  • December 22, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Matterport has helped us share our construction sites during all phases of the project with an easy to use interface.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that the Pro 2 camera came with a more accurate LiDAR Scanner built in.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Matterport had allowed us to easily share 3D scans of our construction sites.

    Commercial Real Estate

Speeds up the leasing process

  • December 22, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Sending prospects a virtual tour speeds up the entire process and eliminates unnecessary tours and saves everyone time!
What do you dislike about the product?
Floor plans could be a bit better. It would be great to get a true as-built from the tour, though being able to get any floor plan is better than not. Also, the ability to create a video from the tour would be extremely helpful - the current process isn't ideal for that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Saving time across the board. Being able to download hi-res images is also a nice benefit.

I love the software, very easy to use platform and capture, but support for msp could be better

  • December 22, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how the capture works, the editing platform and that you are constantly looking to improve the technology and additional tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wouldn't say I like how Matterport charges very high cloud prices to matterport service partners. We introduce the technology to SO MANY clients and get little in return, but high prices.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Giving different companies the option to show their business digitally so they can reach a wider audience and get more clients. All the tools it offers and the 3D dollhouse that is always very noteworthy.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Watch out for cloud prices.

Matterport is a game changer

  • December 22, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Matterport is easy to use and always they are always improving their product. The Pro 2 camera works amazing for our shots and with the app we have full control of the model.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is always room to improve the model editing tools. We need you to bring back some features from the mattertags like being able to add another model or pictures to the preview mattertag. Easier controls for jumping from a 360 shot to the model and back. And improving pricing a bit so it's more accessible for smaller users/companies.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For construction projects. Being able to have a 3D model of each stage of the job site makes a huge impact on the process, they can look at what is inside the walls before the sheetrock was installed.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get the system, and practice the shots to find the best angles for your industry.

I totally recommend the use of the service.

  • December 22, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like the most is the possibility of showing every detail of the property through the immersive tour and thus saving time in showing the property. By using this service I set myself apart from the competition.
What do you dislike about the product?
price. It would be convenient for you to have an intermediate subscription between $ 10 and $ 69.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am solving the waste of time in unnecessary visits. The client can fully see the property and thus decide if he wants to move forward to make a visit. I have several benefits with this service, for example: I do my work more professionally, I can show the property to someone who is thousands of kilometers from the place, saving time is very important.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I totally recommend it. The good thing about it is that you can do it with several 360 cameras, you don't have to buy the matterport, you can do it with a Ricoh camera or with your cell phone.

  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
So easy to use with my iPhone and an inexpensive tripod mount
What do you dislike about the product?
I really don't have any complaints, and the support team is really responsive to questions
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When are campus went virtual due to the pandemic I was able to keep the gallery open while expanding our audience at the same time. Now that we are back to in person learning I continue to create virtual versions of each Exhibition to keep our expanded audience.

Excellent tool for General Contractor Renovation Planning

  • December 22, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Especially in the COVID environment, Matterport allows our company to virtually conduct site visits as many times as we need to for renovation project planning. We can leverage this technology to provide highly accurate quotes to our clients. Based on the scans, floor plan add-ons, and measurement tools, we can make highly informed assumptions about where electrical, plumbing, and mechanical elements lie behind a client's walls. This not only saves us time and money, but it ultimately prevents budget overages during project execution.
What do you dislike about the product?
The mirror and window tools during capture still seem a little bit clunky and could use some refinement. It would be excellent if AI could be used to automatically add windows and mirrors. Adding 360 scans to a model also seems cumbersome. It's impossible to manually "zoom out" to place a 360 scan outside of the envelope of the scanned space. It would also be nice to have more tools at the user level to correct misalignments without having to escelate a misalignment to a support representative. Both times I had to correct misalignment issues, the turn-around time was less than ideal for our needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Job costing in the COVID environment has dramatically streamlined, especially given supply chain challenges. We can conduct unlimited virtual site visits without scheduling an in-person site visit to verify measurements or floor plan layouts. Ultimately this saves both our clients and our company time and money. For new construction and larger renovation projects, we typically scan the structure before the drywall goes up to retain an x-ray vision view of the house. This allows us to trace the source of any issues that pop up after the product is delivered to the client. We formerly had to remove large sections of walls to track down a very small issue. Now we have pinpoint accuracy in locating a specific plumbing union or electrical run. We also utilize the platform for portfolio purposes to showcase before and after views of projects. Finally, we can transfer a copy of the model to our clients on their own accounts for their records.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For residential and light commercial general contractors, this product provides an excellent and quick ROI as a project planning tool.

Great software and deliverable - needs to be more competitive and flexible.

What do you like best about the product?
Matterport can be used to capture nearly all spaces for a vast range of industries; I have used the system to capture historic spaces and areas of these spaces are that are closed to the public. It's a fantastic digital record of these spaces that future generations can use.

Matterport's fast capture time allows us to scan a large space within a day, and the cloud processing is impressive for data registration, the resulting 3D model and high quality 360 imagery is the gold standard for virtual tours.
What do you dislike about the product?
Matterport is an awesome capture system; it is accurate (to a degree) fast and provides stunning results. However, there are limitations to the capture process, issues which are then compounded by slow customer service. Whilst it is to be appreciated that stitching two models exists as an option, it should happen faster than the current turnaround and not have limitations of a certain number of scans/models. Matterport loves to show the amazing spaces that it's users capture throughout the world, but as Matterport grows so do people's ambitions to capture larger and better spaces that should be shown as one model. The cloud processing can't always handle these larger spaces and the stitching team will sometimes refuse to help altogher on this, no matter the space or client, which is a shame. Perhaps they should offer an optional paid service for a nominal fee for these larger projects, so that matterport can really move to the next level.

Another issue is the limitations of what can be done in post-production. Whilst there have been a few nice additions in recent months (long overdue trimming tool, manual blurring) Matterports competitors - who offer less in many respects, also offer much more customization such as custom hotspots, menus, audio, custom branding etc. Matterport *should* offer this in-house without having to use a third-party service like Treedis or Captur3D.

Matterport within the construction and design industry is also a great tool. However, caution should be applied, especially by sales teams who do not fully understand the requirements of surveying a space for design purposes (Point clouds and Revit). Currently, the Pro 2 camera is not an accurate tool for scanning spaces for this purpose. It is a great jumping-off point and can offer a registered point cloud in less than 24 hours, but especially with larger spaces, issues will always arise and opens users to trouble with their clients when they don't fully understand what is being offered.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We capture spaces for a range of industries, including commercial real estate, construction, heritage sector and events spaces. Matterport is a fantastic tool in every instance for this as it brings people into a space without the need to visit. As an example for a recent schedule of conditions survey we created, a project manager was able to use the digital measurement tool to get a ceiling height without having to go back to visit the space physically.

We recently captured the largest Catholic Church in the United Kingdom, providing a complete digital copy of the space that can soon be enjoyed by millions of people round the world who may not always be able to visit physically. It has also proved useful to the Cathedral's conservation team who are using it to check areas and record them at this moment in time
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Look into the business model and see if it is sustainable for you. Can you get enough clients to cover the costs of doing business? Can you do something different to others in your area?

It works

  • December 22, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
MatterPort is extremely easy to use. We use it to shoot all of our own in house virtual tours with 360 cameras. We have the ability to update virtual tours during renovations to make sure that the marketing is current, which potential renters appreciate.
What do you dislike about the product?
I honestly haven't found anything to dislike about MatterPort. They always seem to be adding new features that I didn't even know I wanted. If something comes up, I'll update this review.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We began using MatterPort before the pandemic, but it has really shined with helping to rent units virtually during the lockdown. Customers can use the MatterPort tours to take measurements, and they can move around the space virtual to help them envision living in our units.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use it. MatterPort is very user-friendly, extremely easy to use, and continues to add features. If you run into any issue, Matterport's support team is quick to respond and very helpful.
