Good SaaS ETL Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Matillion's simple UI makes user comfortable to configure and easy to understand the flow. And it's well maintained configuration section is a big plus for this platform. So even new users can easily understand this platform's features and design. Additionally Matillion providing learning materials and courses for beginners to understand their tool and the topics in the course also few, because they teaching only necessary topics which can help beginners to work in their platform as a professional.
What do you dislike about the product?
Matillion doing good in their pathway of Data Engineering, but some drawbacks I have noticed is it's API limitations. Basically Matillion providing API to retrieve metadata from their system, but when it's come to Administrative API's which is something administrator access only features they not provided sufficient APIs for that. And one more dislike in it's designer console, some of the components are working as expected.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Basically Matillion is a ETL tool which works as usual in the Data Engineering field. But apart from that it has many advantages related to Administrative features. They are having a hub which serves billing data in a decent way. Basically teaching a technology/tool to beginners is a big headache especially in Data Engineering, because here everyone is working on top of data only. If anything goes wrong then the whole production got trouble. So in this scenario Matillion solves the teaching in a simple way as they are providing courses to learn their tools and also they are providing free trials to practice the learning. This is a very good initiative from Matillion. And the courses also very simple and contains required details only about the tool. This will stop beginners to lead to confusions, because of required content.

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Matillion is its seamless integration with major cloud platforms like AWS, GCP and Azure. This is very user friendly platform for ETL. It's visual interface makes complex workflows look easier. It offers great scalability, making it suitable for big and small scale users. It helps to reduce the complexity of ETL Process with its no code working ability.
What do you dislike about the product?
One area where Matillion could improve is making complex data sources more streamlined for integrations. Also It's pricing model, It become much more expensive when data volume grows.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Matillion simplifies the ETL process. It allows us to complete complex data pipelines without needing coding expertise. It solves the problem of transforming large data volumes from various sources and loading in cloud data warehouse with ease. It solves seamless integration with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP and Azure.

My overall experience with Matillion had been exceptional.It has a very easy to use and interactive interface.
It provides a large variety of pre-built connectors which helps in quickly and effectively executing complex data pipelines. Their customer support is also amazing.

It is costly as compared to other ETL tools as it provides variety of features.

It is helping me in Complex Data transformation and loading data from one cloud platform like AWS to other like Snowflake.

Handling complex data transformations can be challenging. Costs can add up, especially at scale. Customization options feel limited. Locked into the cloud environment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Matillion saves me time by automating data tasks, improves data quality, and lets me get insights faster. Plus, it handles huge amounts of data without breaking a sweat.
Easy to use, scalable solution.
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use as for the first beginning, as well as the scalability of the tooling. As a start up we could set up a end to end data platform very fast, which resulted in a well manageable data warehouse and integrations that update every day.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is some lacking functionality, but with the introduction of DPC this is covered.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data platform updating, we did not have a data platform (including ETL) in place before we started working with Marillion.

Built-in connectors to heaps of systems; ability to create custom connectors; active community and quick responses to forum questions

Some components are a bit clunky; cloud version is not mature and lacks some features from the server-based version
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can connect to our client datasources easily and pull down data; the natural integration with Snowflake is a huge plus
Matillion + Snowflake
What do you like best about the product?
I like the connectivity I have with running Matillion right on top of my Snowflake instance. It keeps the data secure, keeps the tech stack simple and now that Matillion has SAAS offering it's even better!
What do you dislike about the product?
The first line of defense for customer service is not great. Overtime I've learned where I need to go for answers but customer service definitely isn't it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
They are doing a great job as my middleware. Grabbing data from one place and helping it get to the next. It's simple in context but profound in its need.
From simple to scaled up jobs
What do you like best about the product?
It is very easy to get started with the concepts used in the application is simple and easy to understand. But, under the hood it is very powerful and a workhorse that keep running the jobs day after day.
What do you dislike about the product?
That it is not fully cloud, i.e. it requires some maintenance and manual updating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being the core tool for our data pipelines for our core data (fact and dimension tables) in our analytics products.

What do you like best about the product?
Rich components for developing Data Integration ETL job. Easy and fast implementation.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have experienced several ELT job performance issues that caused Matillion server no response or ETL jobs hanging issues due to Jython Interpreter issue
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Matillion support provided us the solution for resolving Matillion server performance issue, and Matillion new version upgrade support.
