By far the best MDM platform available

  • June 10, 2024
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
There are so many features I could nominate as what I would like best by far it has to be the management and support. Top class in my opinion.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside is I wish I could have all devices under one MDM—for example laptops, desktops, android devices, tablets, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We currently have iPhones and iPads that we manage across various departments in over 50 locations. To have management over all of them under on platform is an amazing technological benefit. Changes that are requested can be done quickly and in real time.

Great MDM solution for the apple ecosystem

  • June 07, 2024
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to setup and use. With an apple business account it's even easier as the laptops will come prepared out of the box. Hooking up to our IdP for laptop accounts via SSO is really nice too. When ever we have a question, their support chat is quickly replied to and so far every issue has been quickly resolved.
What do you dislike about the product?
Doesn't support the windows ecosystem which I understand but would love to see this added.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Business laptop and mobile device management

Small team must! Easy to use with fantastic support to iron out issues

  • June 05, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best things about Kandji are its ease of use, ease of implementation, and customer support.

We're a small team right now, and therefore we have limited IT resources. I have to play multiple roles, and something that was easy to use was very important to me.

I was able to implement it by myself, after not having done anything like this before, by just using the user guides.

Where there some issues their support was expceptional. They respond quickly and solve the issue in real time.
What do you dislike about the product?
The inital investment time is quite high. The process is easy but it is time consuming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a small-medium sized business it was very important to us to be in a technical position where we can grow safely.

Mobile device management is part of that process, but with a small team and not a dedicated role to look after that reponsibility we needed software that was appropriate to empower our admins who often have other responsibilities too.

Kandji is a great fit for that.

What do you dislike about the product?
Log management system needs improvement.
Smart groups based on custom extended attribute feature that Jamf has will be very usefull.
Licensing model is non-standard
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Control, update and patch management of apple devices.

What do you like best about the product?
Kandji does a great job helping new customers. The website is easy to use and the customer service is outstanding.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't had anything I have found yet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We found out late that we needed to pass STIG requirements for a job. This can be overwhelming when dealing with it for the first time. Kandji is the perfect partner for this.

Exceptional MDM solution for Mac devices

  • May 22, 2024
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Kandji was introduced on to the organization a little over a year ago and it has resolved many issues Meraki had. The onboarding team created a custom solution which allowed us to migrate over fleet of devices to Kandji with a 100% success rate.

If you are looking for a MDM solution that is reasonably priced, intuitive, and up to date Kandji would be my recommendation.

Since the adoption of Kandji, the team has been able to allocate their time to other areas of IT by utilzing zero touch deployment, lift-off, self-service and other functionalites.
What do you dislike about the product?
Kandji provides alerts and I have not quite figured out how to mute or resolve some of the automated alerts that pop up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The solution allows my team to manage devices across the various remote offices around the world while meeting compliance requirements. It has also improved the onboarding experience.

Overall a really powerful solution

What do you like best about the product?
Probably my favorite part of Kandji’s offering is the onboarding options for new users. I really like the ability to have the employee sign in with their credentials to ensure it is an authorized user, removing unnecessary onboarding screens from employees (or enforcing specific option selection) to make the experience less overwhelming. I also particularly like how it can be configured to full screen, shows what is being installed for the user, the status, so that the end-user clearly understands what is happening. It then gives them options to learn more.

Kandji also has fairly frequent updates and they do a really good job of announcing these (via slack, email, etc) so that I as an administrator know about new options, OS updates that have been released that will be pushed to my users, etc.

Though most end-users at my org have full admin access and can install whatever they like, having the internal/self-service app store makes it easy for us to purchase apps and make them available to users, as well as showcase apps that we use internally so new users can find and install them easily. This is further enhanced by their wide range of auto-apps that makes apps not available through the app store available and updatable without work on my end.

Their support is responsive and they have a Github repo of scripts that can be used to perform common things admins need to do to extend the functionality the software already has.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I dislike about Kandji is their minimum user count. I've rolled this software out at two startups and ideally I would like to roll out out when the organization is as small as possible, because deploying an MDM solution to any group is a bit difficult (especially if it adds restrictions). I would like MDM to be one of the first things a company deploys and the minumum user count makes it a hard sell.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We purchased this primarily for security/compliance reasons in order to meet the requirements of audit frameworks, but the user-enablement features of this solution make it something we're glad to pay for.

Easy Mac management, improves your Security and saves you time and money

  • May 19, 2024
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Kandji makes your Mac management tasks very easy to complete.
Everything you need to configure is right there at the UI, no need to install software, or sign PKGs. Many of the Core apps are already built into the AutoApps library, so you can add them and make sure they are up to date on your fleet.
Okta is well integrated into the admin console, as well as in the User enrollment and Login (Passport) window. Even Okta's Device Trust is supported and easy to configure.
Operating systems upgrades are also present, no need to run scripts - just set the date and version, and Kandji will enforce it.
Kandji's Support team is super responsive and most of the time will resolve the issue/question inside the chat box!
Migrating to Kandji from Jamf was quick and easy, and was completed in half the time we first planned.
The product team does listen to the customer, and improve features when I ask for them.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are no email notifications.
Slack notifications are limited.
Reporting can be improved.
No dashboards or visual representation of data - especially if you come from Jamf and used to their view.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
From demoting user rights to okta sign in, software upgrades (aka patch management) and OS upgrades.
Kandji saves me time and money.

Kandji provides excellent support

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Kandji provides excellent support via their in portal chat box.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing I can think of at the moment. Currently only thing I would love to have is that we can block removable stroage like USB, external drives etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Kandji is making the management of all our devices in our company easy. Onboarding and offboarding employees is a fast process. With tightly managed blueprints we can ensure we stay true to our ISO 27001 standard
